International Scoliosis Genetics Interest Group
At the recent joint Zorab/Cotrel symposium, researchers interested in the genetic study of idiopathic scoliosis joined forces to form the International Scoliosis Genetics Interest Group. The primary purpose of this group is to foster productive collaborations leading to a genetic understanding of scoliosis.
Several important issues were discussed, including the need to develop methods for data sharing and for uniform phenotyping standards. ISGIG is an international, electronically-connected group open to interested scoliosis researchers who wish to participate in the open exchange of information and ideas. Researchers who wish to join should contact Carol Wise at carol.wise@tsrh.org.
