Your support allows us to continue funding research into the causes and management of scoliosis, to improve quality of life for patients
AIS has primarily been conceptualised as a cosmetic problem, however, given the timing and nature of the condition, it is highly likely to have a significant psychological impact. The aim of the research is to tackle the deficit in high quality psychological data in this field, necessary to improve clinical understanding and treatment. It is hypothesised that psychological variables will play a key role in patient adaptation.
